Subject: [nz] Whangarei Hospital

Hello everyone,

A couple of months ago I posted a query about a photo of a hospital which I
thought was military but after a lot of digging around I have finally found
that the hospital is Whangarei Hospital. My photo taken by my great aunt was
taken in 1922 while she was training there. I still find it interesting that
a Aussie Nurse would do more training away from Australia. I have just
recently received more photos of the hospital which show much more of the
hospital. I also received a photo of Hilda wearing the NZ nurses badge and
also a photo of her pouring medicine as a pose for the photo.
I realised after seeing a picture taken from the front cover of a book
called Whangarei Hospital A Century of Service 1901-2001 that it was the
same hospital except in 1922 it had had a fresh coat of paint.
I would dearly love to track down a copy of this book written by Diana
Menefy and I am hoping that someone may give me an idea where I could get a

I wish to thank everyone who gave me help along the way. Sometimes we forget
to say thankyou enough. I really appreciate the help.
Eventually I would like to ensure that Whangarei Hospital have copies if
they are interested.

Keep up the wonderful work
