Sometimes... They are usually run by Telecom, which means, sometimes
they work, sometimes they don't...

Sometimes... Haven't you heard of the Hutt River Province, and Prince
Leonard?

I read about him in NZ (the best way to get news here, is to read the NZ
online news - news is reported there, about Australia, a couple of weeks
before it is reported here, if it is reported here at all...), in the
1970's.

Speaking of money, I noticed a really silly thing, in the last couple of
weeks. I was at the corner shop buying a weekend newspaper, and, in the
change, was a NZ 50 cent coin. Apparently, some bright spark in NZ,
decided to make the NZ 50 cent coin, the same size as a 10 cent coin,
and so, it is regarded here as equivalent to an ozzie 10 cent coin. So,
whoever made the decision in NZ, to change the NZ 50 cent coin, from the
right size and shape (unlike the silly ozzie 50 cent coin), to the same
size as the 10 cent coin, immediately devalued the NZ currency, to
being worth only a fifth of the ozzie currency. Whoever made that
decision, must have been silly enough, to have probably come from oz...

It would probably be faster, ordering something here, to order it from
the UK, than to order it from Sydney.

I got a shipment delivered from the UK, in 4 days, in the week before
Christmas, 2008, and the minimum delivery time from Sydney, is
generally about 7-10 business days, and, from country towns in NZ, to
here, the usual time is 4 business days.

But, like the answer in the Hitchhiker's Guide, the answer was slightly
wrong...
