Hello Gillian
The following may be some help to you. From NZ Historical Records site.
These could possibly be 2 children of Ann and Charlie NYALL/NIALL ?
1905/5956 Niall John Carroll 9W
1884/460 Niall Annie 3M
There may be others; I only searched 1880 - 1910.

Subject: [nz] Carroll/Nyall
I am hoping someone can help me with a brick wall I have come to.
My ancestor John LeStrange CARROLL had a sister names Ann. I unsure whether
it with an e or not. She was born about 1846 probably in Ireland as her
parents arrived in Lyttelton on the Caroline Agnes in 1855 with her and her
brother and sister. Her parents were John and Brigitina Carroll.
I have some information handed down to me from other researchers in my
family. I believe it to be from the NZSG. It is not dated and looks like it
was typed out so I am guessing it was before the internet.According to this
information Ann CARROLL married a Charlie NYALL and they had 3 daughters.
There are no names given for the daughters.I have not been able to find any
birth records for NYALL on bdm.I have checked the alternate spelling of
Niall and Lyall and there is no Ann(e) or Charles marrying.
I have checked records at my local NZSG branch and Panmure and
bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz and have found no trace of any marriage
with this grooms name.
Any help you can give me in knocking down this brick wall would be much
appreciated.
Thanks
Gillian Wadham
