Fellow Listers, The "NZ Herald on Sunday" on Sunday 12th June 2011 will be
running a story in its supplement, on the recent discovery of the remains of
a NZ pilot lost during World War II over Holland, the story of the discovery
by Dutch researchers, and the reaction of the family. On the 25 July 2011,
there will be ceremonies in Holland to unveil a commemorative plaque to
Pilot Officer Mervyn Sydney LUND and his fellow airmen and which will be
attended by the family, diplomats, the RNZAF, the RAF, The Dutch Royal Air
Force, local dignitaries and the public. The event will take place exactly
70 years after the date of the loss.

I (along with many others I hasten to add) have been helping the journalist
Roy Burke with this story which I am sure you will find interesting, and
shows the levels to which people, not only from immediate families, will go
to, to help others discover their family history and simply to remember.

I hope you enjoy the read,

Ken Baker
