Hello Barbara,

I've been tracing PARLANES throughout NZ for over 20 years now and I'd love to exchange info with you!
At the moment we're in America, so I'll contact you again when we're back home later this month.

Kind regards,
Norma Bethune

Just starting out on my research & wondering if there are any others
researching the same surname/family.
Robert Parlane, 4th son of John Parlane (East Oxford) married Rachel Gunson
Whyte on 2nd June 1896 (also recorded in Papers Past).
Rachel & Robert came north to Waimamaku (Hokianga) area & had up to 8
children. Robert died in 1946 & Rachel in 1935.
I have not as yet managed to locate family in Oxford or surrounding areas,
but as mentioned just starting this family. For the family in Northland I
am slowly filling in the gaps there.
Any clues available to me on where to start with tracing backwards from
their known marriage record?
Is the Wesleyan Church at West Oxford still going as if so would someone be
able to send a picture (or advise me of one on the internet)?

Barbara
