'Tis the season for myths to hit the lists. Disguised as innocent
warnings of dastardly things that can happen to your computer
or heart rending chain letters to be forwarded these postings are
designed to clog up the servers, cause unwarranted discomfort to
List Members and just generally have a laugh at the gullibles who
believe them.
WE will have NO posts on NEWGEN about Virii (I think that is the
plural of Virus) or about sweet little children who want to receive
mail from us to help them recover from some unmentionable disease.

and read some of these myths and phony virus warnings.
We get a lot of new members this time of year. Folks who just got
a computer or genealogy software and they are the most vulnerable to
these myth postings. No warnings, No alerts, No chain mail, please.
