What can I say about my hometown of Channelview, Tx? There are no famous
people from there, alto it did make the national news over the "Cheerleader
Murder Trial" & the movie.
My family moved there when I was 2 yrs. old from Baytown. When I return can
see all the changes, my brother still lives there. There are chemical plants
now, etc. w/ many more people. Channelview is located on I-10, 15 miles east
of Houston. It was nice having the big city nearby for shopping,
entertainment & dining.
We had no high school till I was a senior, we went to hs in Baytown. Our
class was the 1st to graduate in 1958. A new high school was built 2 yrs ago
& we were invited back for the dedication. The guest speaker , from our class
is a Lt. Gen. in the Army. Was the new school ever a change over the one we
had in '58, some fancy stuff there!!
I haven"t lived in the area for 35 yrs. but its where my heart still is & go
back to visit several times a year. Live in the small E Tx. town of Overton
now.
