If you want to list yourself as source, that would be fine, although the
birth certificate would be logical.

I don't complete these items on people for whom I have substantial
information nd absolute knowledge of family relationship.

If I am hesitant about a possible connection all sources are listed until I
can "prove" the connection. That might mean eventually the removal of
someone who is not related.
