Prisoners of War and Missing in Action
All wars throughout history have had their share of prisoners and missing
combatants. However, it was only within the last few centuries that the
plight of the captives and the mystery of the missing have been a concern to
historians and contemporary chroniclers. Learn more about both through this
section on POW / MIAs.

Examples:
1. “Prisoner of War Camps of the American Civil War” .. Within the broad
framework of the American Civil War, perhaps the darkest and most horrible
element did not come from the battlefield, but from within the confines of
the prisoner of war camps. Both Union and Confederate prison camps had their
share of atrocities resulting in starvation, disease, and death. Learn more
about these institutions here.

2. “Korean War Project” .. This site provides information on POW camps,
unit information, association updates, and a variety of reference tools for
POW/MIA research (i.e. DNA tests, books, and maps)
