James PORTER was arrested for riding at a rapid rate through city
streets. At the trial he was fined $5 and costs. Then re-arrested and
put in the calaboose to enforce the payment of the fine.

Last Thursday some petty-larceny scamp entered the house of Mr. John
FLACK, a mile and a half south of town and noone being home, helped
himself to the contents thereof.

Last week a son of J.I. TERRY of this place, came out from Ill. The
father and son had not seen each other for 18 years. Mr. TERRY, the
younger, has a family and intends to make Healdsburg his home.

Mr. Geo. W. WATSON of Healdsburg, lost his brother Glasford WATSON of
Downieville, in an explosion there. Glasford had no family and no
relations on this coast except the brother.
