past few days in consequence of heavy rainfall.

The average tenor will labor a lifetime to reach the high C. George
MORGAN, the young Englishman who is this season with Haverly's Minstrels,
soars nearly an octave above the high C; indeed reaches notes that the
male voice has never before been known to attain. This vocal marvel last

Minstrels of London, but a tempting salary caused him to cross the pond
and join the Haverly's Minstrels, who appear at Olympia Theater, Thursday
night.

Rev. H. L. BADGER, rector of St. John's church, last Monday, tendered his

resigning his charge. The family will leave in about ten days for Tulare,
California.
