Mr. Editor....
Why doesn't the Town Marshal put a stop to boys shooting their air guns
about the streets, endangering children's eyes and limbs and even their
lives. They shoot at birds and anything else they take a notion to with
perfect recklessness, and pay no attention to remonstrances. Yesterday
afternoon my little daughter had a narrow escape, a ball aimed at a bird
having passed close to her head. Windows are broken and dogs shot in their
owners' yards and some boys are impudent when talked to about it. I believe
there is a town ordinance against shooting of such guns within the town
limits, and I respectfully ask that it be enforced before some serious
damage is done.
