City Attorney Ben S. SAWYER was a business visitor in Olympia Monday.
The family of C. A. KENWORTHY have all been quite ill the past week.
L. H. BOWDITCH of Rainier was a business visitor in Tenino one day last
week.
P. C. KIBBE made a business trip to Centralia, Elma and Olympia last
week.
M. CALLAWAY is building an addition to his house in form of a bathroom.
A new Model 1914 Overland has arrived at the SHOTWELL garage. It's a
beauty.
Remember the social tomorrow, September 19. Watch the windows for
posters.
Former Marshal Tom BRULEY was down from South Bay over Saturday and
Sunday.
Miss Blendine HAYS left Sunday for Seattle where she will take up her
studies in the University of Washington.
S. McKEE went to Chehalis Monday to buy a horse to take him to and from
work.
Dr. R. E. ZELLERS leaves Sunday to be gone a week on a vacation trip to
Sound cities.
The merry-go-'round after a short stay has pulled up stakes and left for
Roy for the fair.
Miss Alice COMPTON who has been very sick with pneumonia is reported
slowly improving.
A. WEBSTER is in Centralia being treated by Dr. SCACE. He has had an
X-Ray examination this week.
O. S. RAMBO and son, Floyd, and Gordon CALLAWAY made a business trip to
Centralia on Saturday.
T. H. MacLAFFERTY is recovering from an attack of tonsilitis after being
confined in the house for several days.
J. A. BARKLEY leaves today for his new home in Puget City.
September 27 is the date set for a social dance to be given at Tenino I.
O. O. F. hall under the auspices of the Cornet band. the band will
furnish the music and that it will be a swell affair goes without saying.
B. B. NOBLE, of Puget City has swapped his property in that place for the
Tenino Bakery and will move his family here. Mr. NOBLE is a practical
baker and pastry cook and should have no trouble in building up a
prosperous business here.
J. J. PERKINS is erecting a 32 x 24 store building on his lot adjoining
The News office. It will be divided into two stores, 16 x 24 each, one
of which will be occupied by a first-class barker shop with baths and all
the latest up-to-the-minute equipment.
Last week a check for $104 came from Missouri for Mrs. Charles MAYER
while she was in the hospital at Olympia. Her husband took the check
over to her; she endorsed it and sent him out to get it cashed. He has
not been seen since. That fellow ought to be whipped.
The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew WILSON will rejoice with them
over the arrival of a 10-pound boy on Wednesday, September 10, at their
home in Portland. Mrs. WILSON was formerly Miss Ivy GILMORE, who was for
a number of years bookkeeper in the bank here. It is an open question
who is most pleased, the proud parents or the cashier of the Tenino State
Bank, Mr. HAYS, in whose honor the little chap has been christened Dean
Gilmore WILSON.
A million dollar mortgage, the exact significance of which is but a
matter of conjecture on the part of those outside the transaction, has
been filed with the auditor of Thurston county, by the Oregon Washington
corporation, with the Philadelphia Trust, Safe Deposit and Insurance
company designated as trustees. --Olympian.

Mrs. Frank OWENS of Tono was in town Tuesday.
W. V. CALES made a business trip to Centralia Tuesday.
Mrs. John DUNN was shopping in Centralia Tuesday.
Mrs. Morgan DAVIES of Stoney Point was in town Monday.
Miss SCARFF went to Seattle Friday and returned Sunday.
Merritt REESE was here from Centralia Tuesday greeting old friends.
Mr. and Mrs. MANNIS of Oakville were in town a short time Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ren SCOTT are visiting the latter's mother, Mrs. J. McGUIRE.
Mrs. J. CALES went to Tenino Sunday to visit with her daughter, Mrs. Ray
MARVIN.
Miss Alice LINDSLEY of Tono spent the week end at the home of Mrs. Robert
DAVIES.
Mrs. JOHNSTONE of Palo Alto, California, is visiting her daughter, Mrs.
Byron EPPERSON.
Mrs. HAGGART has gone to Tenino to spend a few days with her niece, Mrs.
Ray MARVIN.
Mrs. J. B. GARLAND, who has been visiting in Seattle several weeks
returned home Friday.
Mrs. WELLS of Hoquiam spent a few days at the home of Mrs. E. A. NICHOLS
the first of week.
Mr. and Mrs. John SMITH of Tono were in town over Sunday the guests of
Mrs. Emil KRUPP.
Miss Lola GRAYBEAL of Yelm, was visiting with her brother, J. B.
GRAYBEAL, the station agent, a few days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ora AXTELL of McIntosh were in town Sunday visiting Mrs.
AXTELL's mother, Mrs. James McGUIRE.
Will DAVIES was up from St. John's garage in Centralia Tuesday to make
some repairs on P. F. KNIGHT's automobile.
