N. BANFIELD, Petaluma.
Married near Healdsburg, May 4, 1882, Lulu C., daughter of John D.
HASSETT to John L. WALKER, Sebastopol.
Died at Healdsburg, May 9, 1882, Stephen SOULES; aged 73y; native of
Dundass Co., Ontario, Canada; came to Cal. 1855; to the Russian River
from Placer co. in 1857; engaged in farming at the junction of Dry Creek
and Mill Creek, 2 miles SW of Healdsburg; his nephew and son, Cyrus and
L.O., constructed the flouring mill on Mill Creek in 1866; in 1867
SOULES, Sr. bought the interest of his nephew Cyrus, and has since
engaged in milling; in 1881, in company with his sons, L.O. and A., he
built the brick mill now running near the SW corner of the plaza; died
of bronchitis; leaves a widow and two sons.
Died at Healdsburg, May 8, 1882, Marian, infant daughter of L.O. and
Mary SOULES, aged 8m 2d.
Died near WIndsor, Apr. 6, 1882, Josie Austin, daughter of C.P. BIGELOW,
aged 2y 2m.
Died at Santa Rosa, Apr. 24, 1882, Mrs. Elizabeth SHELTON, aged 60y.
Mr. T.M. PEUGH, one of the oldest residents of Santa Rosa, was killed in
a runaway accident in that city, on Wednesday last.
On Sunday last, Wm. JONES shot and killed his brother-in-law, Harvey
LONG, at Middletown.

S.V.R. KLINK; aged 61y; born in N.Y., 1821; German descent on his
fathers side and New England on his mothers side; early life spent in
Albany, N.Y. as a farmer; 1844 he married Margaret Jane SMITH of Albany;
nine children; came to Cal. 1859; wife died in 1860; in 1870 he married
Samantha BOUTON.
