CITY NEWS IN BRIEF

A small allotment of the second issue of Liberty Bonds has arrived at the
Citizens Bank of Tenino, and Cashier HUBBARD will issue them to
subscribers when paid in full.

Mrs. HUGGINS was in Olympia on business.

John GALLAGHER was home from Camp Lewis.

Mrs. Robert McDONALD is on the sick list.

Miss Nancy McCLELLAN is able to be around again.

Mrs. LaFOND is sick at her home at Offut lake.

William WHERRETT was a business visitor Tuesday.

Mr. PETERSON's son has been sick the past few days.

Mrs. POLLMAN is home after an extended visit in Oregon.

Born, to Mr. and Mrs. John KINBER, Saturday, a baby girl.

Mrs. FRARE is very sick at her home near the Skookum mill.

Clyde DRAKE was home over Sunday and visiting friends in town.

Mrs. LYNN had a very bad fall last Friday and was taken to a hospital.

Born, Sunday morning, to Mr. and Mrs. S. COZINE, a bouncing 10-pound
girl.

Mr. LANNINGHAM of the Lotus last night opened a branch show house in
Bucoda.

Mrs. C. GALLAGHER and son, John, were guests at the Emil KRUPP home
Sunday.

Mrs. H. P. SCHEEL, after a week in Tacoma under the doctor's care has
returned home, much improved.

Ralph YOAKUM and family returned to Tenino from Olympia.

Ed. MAYES at the Presidio, on his birthday, received a surprise package
from home, containing a roast chicken dinner with a large birthday cake.

Rev. J. C. HARRISON, district superintendent, will preach in the
Methodist church next Sunday evening, and deliver an address to the
Epworth Leagve at 6:45 o'clock.

H. J. HEEBNER, freight clerk at the new depot was taken ill at the
Francis hotel Friday night, and was removed to the N. P. hospital at
Tacoma. At last report he was a very sick man.

Mrs. W. H. MULLANEY will entertain the D. of H. on Friday, November 16,
and will serve dinner from 3 to 4 o'clock. All ladies are welcome.
Dinner 25 cents -- all you can eat. No one need go away hungry.

Mrs. Belle HUGGINS, the manager of the Central hotel, which was destroyed
by fire last week has leased the Francis Hotel. The patrons of the old
Central and the traveling public will be pleased to learn that she will
open the dining room the first of the week.

TONO NOTES.

The Tono Kensington club met at Mrs. COWEL's last Thursday and spent a
pleasant afternoon, the following members being present: Mesdames
BROOKS, FRENCH, FRIEND, GAINES, MARDICOTT, McDONALD, NUGENT, Harry WYLAM,
Frank :WYLAM, RUSSELL, ISACSON, LINDULA, WAY, ZIMMERMAN and the hostess,
Mrs. COWEL. They will meet next Thursday with Mrs. NUGENT.

Mrs. TURNBUL received the sad news of her brother's death in California
last week.

J. S. HOUSE has a new gasoline saw and is doing custom work.

Miss Lucile GAUSE is taking the place of Miss HILTON in the Oak Grove
school.
Alex YOUREX is now spinning around in a brand new Ford.

Mr. ROOT has moved to Seattle and is missed by many friends he made while
here.

Carl HUBBARD is recovering nicely from a bick by a horse.

The District Superintendent will be at the Methodist church at 7:30
Friday night.

M. L. PAGE and Christen NELSON are putting up a logging camp on the
DesChutes river.

BUCODA BUBBLES.

John RICHMOND and family went to Centralia Sunday.

John ALLAND, one of the sawyers at the shingle mill, moved his family
here from Lacy last Tuesday.

The DAVIES Hotel opened last Sunday with a chicken dinner and all the
fixin's, which was duly appreciated by the regular patrons and a number
of outside guests.

Mrs. Frank TAMBLYN of Tono is visiting relatives here.

E. H. SANFORD of McCormick was in town Monday.

A. BURNHAM and wife made a trip to Centralia Tuesday.

Lester STOKES of Tenino was in town on business Tuesday.
