CITY NEWS IN BRIEF

Skookumchuck Grange will give one of its popular dances Saturday night,
March 2.
Mrs. HUGGINS was in Portland a few days on business.
Mrs. RYLANDS is sick at her home at the Mutual mill.
Standard Oil man, Mr. SWEET was in Tenino Wednesday.
Lella BALLETTI spent Saturday and Sunday at the old home.
M. B. PETERSON made a business trip to Tacoma Tuesday.
Oscar NEUERBURG and wife spent Sunday at Camp Lewis.
Mr. FROST has suffered greatly with blood poison in his hand.
Mrs. T. G. WEBSTER and son, Oris, visited at W. H. MULLANEYs Saturday.
Mr. BAKER and wife spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joe READER at Maytown.
Mr. and Mrs. MORRISSEY and daughter spent Sunday at the THARP home.
Mrs. MOODY and daughter, Margaret, of Rainier, are visiting in Tenino.
Marie MULLANEY came home for a visit Tuesday returning to Seattle Sunday.
Messrs. F. B. WELSH and H. SHANAHAN were week end guests at the MULLANEY
home.
County Engineer MANNES was in town Saturday night explaining the bonding
proposition.
Mrs. W. H. MULLANEY and daughter, Marie, were Centralia visitors
Wednesday.
BUCODA BUBBLES.
Robert McALOON has quit the shingle mill and gone to work in the Olympia
ship yard.
George RICHARDS has gone to Cosmopolis to join his wife who went there
several weeks ago.
Merton HILL came from Camp Lewis and spent the week end with his parents.
The mumps are still in town. Thomas HIGHAM, Clara CHPPELL and Clarence
SUTHERLAND are ill with them.
Frank MOLETTE, accompanied by a lady, is home from Seattle. It is
rumored that they are house hunting.
Robert DAVIES went to Tacoma last week to hear the Scotch Comedian Harry
Lauder.
Earl FORSYTHE and wife from Tono spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Joe
FARRINGTON.
Rob't ASPEL and wife of Bunker spent Sunday at the home of his mother.
Mrs. R. DAVIES received word from her son, Edward, who is with the
aviation corps at Camp Kelly, Texas. He says Texas is a pretty good
place but it can't come up to good old rainy Wash.
Mrs. J. CALES has returned to her home here after spending the winter in
Bellingham.
Mrs. Rudolph MORSBACH after an operation is back home from Centralia, and
on a fair way to recovery.
Mrs. Charles GILLESPIE spent Sunday in Centralia.
Mrs. John RICHMOND made a trip to Centralia Thursday.
Mr. BOWEN has moved his family into the J. JOHNSON place on the hill.
SCHOOL NOTES
By our Special School Reporter
The election of officers of the Lincoln Literary Society for the third
quarter takes place at the meeting Friday afternoon.
George WEBSTEr is absent this week on account of the illness of his
mother.
The sale of Thrift Stamps is coming along fine. Many students have
already very neat back accounts with Uncle Sam.
Miss JAMISON, a former teacher of Tenino, now of Snoqualmie, is Miss
Aspinwall's guest this week. Her former pupils were all delighted to see
her.
George McDONALD cannot attend school this week because of his eye.
The Physics class is studying about the refraction and reflection of
light.
