Mrs. Adams, a pioneer lady formerly of this county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dufrene, on Saturday June 23 & was buried the following Tuesday in Cypress Lawn Cemetery. She was 75 years of age & leaves 2 sons, Arthur Adams of Lancha Plana & Edgar Ekel of Forest Home; two step-sons, Henry Ekel of Forest Home & John Ekel of Plymouth; 1 daughter, Mrs. Dufrene of San Francisco to mourn her death. It will be most sadly felt by the daughter, whose chief companion she was since the departure of her husband, Mr. Dufrene, for Cape Nome, whither he has gone to dispose of some rich mine. There were present at the old lady's bedside to minister to her last wants on this earth, her daughter, granddaughter, Mr.C.H. Shield & her grandson, Eddie Bawden.
