Benicia Francesca, widow of the lamented General M.G. VALLEJO, died at
her home in Sonoma, Friday morning, after an illness of several months.
Mrs. VALLEJO, was one of the most distinguished women in the State and
her family history is closely connected with the earlier history of Ca.
She was a sister of Julio CARRILLO, and personally known to many of our
older residents. She was married to Gen. VALLEJO on the 6th of March
1832. The city of Benicia was named in her honor. She was a woman of
noble character and beloved by all who knew her. She was 75 years old.

H.M. DANIELS, who, with his family moved from near Boonville, last fall,
and took up his residence on the TODD place, has become insane and was

DANIELS in a dream. He expended all his means prospecting and finally
was compelled to give up. On moving to Cloverdale, he joined the Baptist
Church and religion became a mania with him. His mind became deranged
completely and his family fearing violence, had him arrested and taken
in charge. (Cloverdale Reveille)
