Healdsburg.

Windsor.

Vicar R. KRON of Salem, Or., brought his mother here for burial last
Saturday. He is remaining for a few days visiting his uncle F.J. KRON,
on East St. The family lived in this section at one time and the father
is buried here.

Mrs. Martha Ellen BELL, for many years a resident of this city, died
last Sunday morning. Mrs. BELL was the widow of the late J.K. BELL, and
she came to CA. in 1854. She had made her home in this section for 68y.
Two daughters, Mrs. Margaret KELLY and Mrs. O. THOMWARDEN, and two
grandchildren survive her. Mrs. Ellen BELL was an earnest and sincere
Christian, a loving mother, a good friend and neighbor. Her death is a
sad one, not only to the bereaved relatives, but to hundreds and friends
in this city and section.

The condition of Dr. Fred N. FOLSOM of Guerneville, who was injured by
being struck over the head with a two-by-four during a quarrel with
Frank A. LAMBERT, was reported as improved with less likelihood of the
injury to his skull being fatal, as was first feared. LAMBERT, an
employee of FOLSOM, and the doctor became involved in a street
discussion and quarrel, during the height of which LAMBERT struck his
opponent over the head. He was arrested and released on $1000 bail,
pending trail. Dr. FOLSOM practiced medicine at Windsor 20 years ago,
later moving to Guerneville where he practiced his profession for a
time, and then engaged in the sawmill business. His son, Otis FOLSOM
swore to the warrant charging LAMBERT with assault with intent to commit
murder.

William Albert JOHNSON was held Wednesday afternoon to answer to the
superior court on the charge of murdering his father at Glen Ellen last
February. The preliminary hearing was held before Justice VAUGHAN of
Santa Rosa township. Attorney Wallace L. WARE requested the court to fix
bail for JOHNSON pending trial, as the evidence showed that defendant
was not guilty of first degree murder. The matter of bail was taken
under advisement.

Mrs. J.M. TOZER of Oakland passed away Wednesday morning. She was the
grand mother of Mrs. H.D. CHANDLER of Healdsburg.

WIth spring blossoms and loveliness comes word that Dan Cupid has been
busy when Miss Edythe Mae ROBINSON, formerly of West Side, and Mr. Sam
D. PENRY, were married at the bride's home in San Francisco last
Saturday. Mr./Mrs. PENRY have a host of friends on West Side who wish
them untold success and happiness in their future years of wedded life.

Mr./Mrs. Richard YOUNG are rejoicing over the arrival of a nine pound
son, Master YOUNG arriving Wednesday at the General Hospital, with Dr.
Seawell attending with Dr. Stork. This is the first child in the YOUNG
family. Mrs. YOUNG will be remembered as Miss Elizabeth McMULLEN of
Sebastopol.

Zoe BUDD, daughter of Mrs. STEWART of Petaluma, died Saturday at Lytton
Home, aged 12y. She had been ill for three weeks. The remains were taken
by the mother to Petaluma for burial.

B.F. HOAR, 87 year old youngster, was down town from his home last
Friday afternoon transacting business and meeting friends.
Mr./Mrs. HOAR will celebrate the 49th anniversary of their wedding on
Sunday May 7th.

Jay HASSETT, of the firm of Roehm & Hassett, local butchers, went to San
Francisco on the early morning train Thursday, there to meet an eastern
lady who is to become his bride. It is expected that Mr/Mrs. HASSETT
will return to their home in this city today, Friday.

Mr/Mrs. John N. McCLISH will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary
on Monday May 1st. At that time they will be at home to their friends
and relatives at the residence of their daughter, Mrs. J.A. FLACK, on
Magnolia Dr. from two until six in the afternoon. A large number of
people will journey to this beautiful country home on that day to pay
their respects to the bride and groom of a half century ago and to wish
them health and a full share of happiness for many years to come.

A baby daughter, weighing 12 pounds, and the second child in the family,
was born Sunday afternoon to Mr/Mrs. Earl LOUK.

Mr/Mrs. Pat DENNIS are rejoicing over the arrival of their first born, a
10 pound son, born in Santa Rosa Tuesday morning. The mother is Miss
Bess GODMAN. Dad DENNIS is a son of Mr/Mrs. Ed. DENNIS of this city.

Mr/Mrs. R.K. JAMIESON welcomed a daughter Sunday morning, weight 8
pounds. This is the second child in the family.

Mrs. Bertha A. SARGENT, daughter of Mr/Mrs. George W. BRIGHAM of this
city, died Thursday morning. She had been in poor health for a long
time. Besides her parents she is survived by one son, Darrell SARGENT,
her husband having died several years ago. The funeral will be held from
the residence of Mr/Mrs. BRIGHAM Saturday afternoon at two o'clock.
Misfortune seems to come to Mayor and Mrs. BRIGHAM at stated intervals.
Only a few years ago they lost their son, then their son-in-law, and now
a daughter has taken up the great adventure and its mysteries. They have
the sincere sympathy of a large number of friends.
