Judge and Mrs. T. J. McCLELLAN Mr. and Mrs. Frank NEWELL and
daughters Frances and Katherine and Lee LEWIS spent Sunday in Onalaska
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Carl McCLELLAN.
Mrs. M. M. WILSON left Tesday for a three weeks' visit in
Arizona.
Alex MUNSON, who spent the winter at Astoria, Oregon, returned to
Tenino Thursday and will spend the summer at his home at Offut Lake.
Mrs. J. R. SMITH who has been ill for the past four weeks is
improving nicely. She is 82 years old and has been ill with flu. Her
recovery seem quite remarkable.
Mr. and rMs. J. C. TROSPER of Tacoma spent the week end visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold TROSPER.
Mrs. H. TROSPER spent Monday and Tuesday in Tacoma.
Mrs. Charles HOWSEN of Tacoma, sister of Mrs. Harold TROSPER,
arrived here Thursday for a short visit with Mrs. TROSPER.
Mr. and Mrs. William TUCKER were dinner gests at the A. D.
CAMPBELL home Sunday.
Mrs. Frank WHALIN who has been ill is reported better.
Mrs. Mildred WILSON and her mother, Mrs. L. M. McINTYRE left
Tuesday for Tuscon, Arizona, via California and Mexico. They expect to
be gone a month.
Ray HOOVER, Emil and Howard DUNCAN of Centralia were visitors in
Tenino Thursday.
Mrs. George DEMPSEY attended a Red Cross meeting in Olympia on
Wednesday.
Mrs. Leslie L. CORFMAN went to Seattle Friday for a visit with
her sister, Mrs. H. C. LYNDE. She will return Saturday.
A. B. L. GELLERMAN of Seattle, Geo. SWIFT, Mrs. Vada ROGERS and
daughter Ruby motored to Rochester on Tuesday evening.
Mrs. S. E. FURLONG of Rochester visited relatives in Tenino this
week.
The Loyal Workers held a Special meeting at the Community Center
Tuesday evening. It was decided to give a musical in the near future the
proceeds of which will be used for the purpose of building a sidewalk in
front of the church. Mrs. Earenst MAYFIELD has charge of the program.
Mrs. J. NICHOLS returned home Friday from Centralia where she has
been in the hospital. She will accompany her daughter, Mrs. L. REARDON
to her home at Bellingham Sunday to remain until she has regained her
health and strength. Mrs. REARDON has been with her mother here since
she became ill.
Mr. and Mrs. L. J. JOHNSON attended a birthday party in honor of
Mr. JOHNSON's niece, Mrs. Harold CHASE at Shelton Wednesday night.
Mr. and Mrs. W. LINDEAU and family spent Sunday in Olympia.
Mrs. Agnes SMITH, mother of Mrs. Clarence LYNN, and Mrs. L. O.
KINNEY, who has ben quite ill with flu but is now improving, has as
guests this week Mrs. C. H. MUNSON of Leavensworth, Kansas, and Mrs. L.
A. HASKELL of Seattle. Mrs. MUNSON arrived Friday and Mrs. HASKELL on
Thursday. Both are daughters of Mrs. SMITH.
Mr. and Mrs. F. C. BAYNE spent the week end in Seattle.
L. E. MUNSEN, a Tenino boy who was gassed in the world war, is
now in a hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Mrs. S. E. HINCHCLIFFE made a business trip to Olympia Tuesday.
Chester SMITH, proprietor of the Palace Cafe was a business
visitor to Centralia Thursday afternoon.
Miss Gladys HINCHCLIFFE was in Olympia on business Saturday.
Mrs. C. H. BARTLETT of Tacoma arrievd Wednesday to spent two days
with her daughters, Mrs. Melvin McCABE and Mrs. D. L. BARLOW.
The F. F. F. (meaning) the Friendly Fat Fraternity, met at the
home of Mrs. D. L. BARLOW Monday to organize. The club will be composed
of the heavies only. The main feature of amusement is the
get-thin-to-music exercises. Cake and pie resistence is also an
important feature. The charter members include Mrs. D. L. BARLOW, Mrs.
A. D. CAMPBELL, Mrs. Clarence REED of Bucoda, Mrs. P. D. NORTHCRAFT, Mrs.
W. L. HARRUP of Centralia, and Mrs. B. GIBSON. The star reporter of The
Independent is contemplating joining and will consider it seriously on
conditions that said reporter may have the honor of holding the office of
referee.
Word has been received by Mrs. H. L. HOLCOMBE of the death of Mr.
HOLCOMBE's mother who resided in Arkansas. Her death occurred the day
after Mr. HOLCOMBE left Tenino.
