LEGION PICNIC AT OLYMPIA PARK
Plans were formulated Thursday night for a American Legion picnic
to be held at Priest Point Park in Olympia on Sunday, August 12. All
exservice men and their families in this section of the county are
expected to be present.
The cemetery improvement funds on hand were ordered placed in a
savings account at the bank. However, it was voted to turn this money
over to the cemetery association as soon as the deeds were secured and
the old cemetery taken over by the association. A feed was enjoyed at
the expense of Comrades BLUE and DAVIS.
It was decided to not hold any more meetings this summer, the
next one to be held just before the state convention in Olympia in
September.

HIGH SCHOOL FACULTY FOR THE COMING TERM
The high school faculty for the coming term has been employed and
is announced as follows:
C. L. MARTIN, superintendent; N. D. MOSER, music, history,
geography etc. Edna BILLINGS, chemistry and science; Nellie F. McNEIL,
English; Roy C. STROUD, principal, mathematics; Melba HADLEY, commercial
department; Maybelle FALKNER, domestic science; Mr. GIBSON, manual
training; Mrs. Zaidee BRICKERT, music.

JEFF HOWE MANAGER OF BREMERTON FUEL FIRM
Jeff HOWE has recently become a member of the firm, Service Fuel
company of Bremerton, successor to the Rainey Lumber company. Mr. HOWE,
who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson HOWE of Tenino, has been connected
with the lumber firm for a long time. In the new organization Jeff is
general manager.

Mrs. J. D. McGUIRE was the guest of Mrs. D. D. AXTELLE Wednesday.
Friends have received word from Mrs. H. HOPPE from Oakland,
California. She reports her trip a very pleasant one. After her visit
in Oakland she will spend some time in Los Angeles before returning home.
Arthur SADOW is spending the week in Tacoma visiting his sister,
Mrs. Frank PIERCE.
Mrs. Mollie DODGE of San Diego arrived Sunday to spend a week
with Mr. and Mrs. T. J. McCLELLAN.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. McCLELLAN and Lee LEWIS motored to Oregon City
Saturday to visit with William McCLELLAN.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph ELLIS of Raymond, Mrs. C. E. HADLEY of Kelso,
and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. ELLIS of Doty spent Thursday till Saturday as
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert CAHOON.
Mrs. L. A. McLAIN entertained the Pinochel club Wednesday evening
at her home. After the games refreshments were served.
Mrs. Oscar CARLSON, daughter of Mrs. Grace MAYES, has changed her
address from Tumwater to Tenino.
Mrs. R. J. AXTELLE of Auburn spent the week end at the home of
her son, D. D. AXTELLE.
