CITY AND COUNTY
Fred ROSMOND, an employee in the State Land office was elected
auditor of Chehalis county last Tuesday.
John S. HOLLAND, formerly a resident of this city, died at
Portland, Oregon last Saturday of hemhorage of the stomach.
Gene WHITESIDE has purchased an interest in the Olympia Skating
rink and will hereafter assist in conducting that institution.
Indications are that the republican congressman and supreme
judges will receive upwards of 50,000 majority in the state.
The annual convention of the Christian missionary alliance will
be held in this city, at the gospel mission on November 16th and 17th.
A large flock of white swan dropped down into Bigelow's lake last
Thursday morning and three of them were killed by local hunters.
Members elected to the legislature are already desirous of
securing rooms at private houses in Olympia during the coming session of
the legislature.
Game Warden MOSSMAN has presented a demand for one-half the
amount of the fines collected by Thurston county from George WRIGHT for
stealing cat ears.
A. A. TIBBITTS was lost while hunting deer in the Black Hills
near Little Rock this week, but was found by a searching party after he
had been gone three days.
D. W. BOWEN fell from a ladder while at work in the manufacturing
establishment of the Olympia door company last Saturday and received
serious injuries.
An interesting program was rendered last Friday evening at the
Brighton park school house by the literary society. Another debate will
take place on the evening of the 17th.
The home of M. A. WAGER, at Mud Bay, was slightly damaged by fire
last Wednesday. The flames were extinguished by Mrs. WAGER, assisted by
John BARNES.

November 14, Mr. BLISS vs. Mr. HITT, for driving a horse to
death.
American Surety company vs. Mr. SARVER, for default on bonds.
November 15, Mr. ELLSWORTH and wife vs. Mr. BRENNER and wife.
November 16, Mrs. BENNETT, whose husband was run over and killed
by a train a new months ago, vs. Mr. BRENNER and wife.
November 15, Mr. ELLSWICK and wife vs. Mr. BREMMER and wife.
November 16, Mrs. BENNETT, whose husband was run over and killed
by a train a few months ago, vs. the NORTHERN PACIFIC Railroad Company.
Carstens Packing company vs. Frank C. TURNER.
November 19, Mr. BARNARD vs. Mr. GUSLANDER, for the violation of
a contract.
November 20, E. A. BALDWIN and wife against W. I. AGNEW and wife.
