BUCODA
Claude VANDERSLICE of Centralia, was in town on business Monday.
Mrs. George MORRIS of Tono was in town Monday visiting with Mrs.
L. A. CAMPBELL.
Mrs. Ray MARVIN and A. NORMAN of Frost Prairie were in town
Monday visiting Mrs. Jane CALES.
Mr. and Mrs. H. E. NICKELS spent the week end in Portland.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. ROBINSON over the week end were Mr.
and Mrs. L. J. ROBINSON of Seattle, Mrs. John WALTER and Mr. and Mrs.
John WALTER, Jr., of Chehalis, and John ROBINSON of Centralia.
The P. T. A. met Friday evening at the Bucoda school and after
the business meeting a health play was given by the third and fourth
grades. A book was awarded the 5th and 6th grades for being the winners
in the membership drive.
D. J. NOBLITT gave an interesting talk on the "Crisis in
Education". Several piano selections were given by Mary Catherine BAKER.
Mrs. Leet BOWEN and sons of Mayfield were in town on business
Monday.
Mrs. W. C. SMITH of Seattle is visiting at the Martin FOARD home.
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. STOKES are spending a few days in Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred GREEN of Tacoma and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. NELSON
of Olympia were in town Sunday.
Miss Vivian TEETER and Rex BREIM of Chehalis were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. H. TEETER Sunday.
James BAGLEY of Seattle was in town on business over the week
end.
Mrs. Fred VonPLANTA and Mrs. F. G. SANFORD attended Founders Day
at the Annie Wright Seminary Thursday.
Dr. and Mrs. L. A. CAMPBELL were in Seattle the last of the week
visiting relatives.
Mrs. Lee MORGAN was the hostess to the Booster Club Tuesday.
Those attending were Mesdames R. H. O'NEILL Edw. PERSON, D. J. NOBLITT,
Anna MORSBACH, Ray SHUPP, J. C. NELSON, James GRAHAM, J. W. DAVIS, Jack
YANTIS and the hostess. Mrs. MARSBACH will entertain the club January
31.
The Bucoda Relief gave a Dessert Bridge at the home of Mrs. F. L.
STOKES Wednesday. Mrs. H. WHITE of Tenino was awarded first prize and
Mrs. A. FRIEDEL, second. The proceeds were $8.
George and James FORSYTHE of Tono were in town on business
recently.

RAINIER
A farewell surprise party was given for Mrs. Sheridan J. WHARTON
at her home Thursday afternoon. Cards were played and a prize awarded
Mrs. Harry ANDERSON for high score. The WHARTONs are moving to Tacoma.
Mr. WHARTON is a North Coast state driver.
Lester SMITH of Tacoma spent Sunday in Rainier.
Donna Jean RANDOL was burned on the arm Monday when she fell
against the stove.
Irene MILLER of Centralia, spent a few days here visiting her
sister Mr. and Mrs. Bryan RANDOL this week.
The Grange hall is being improved and remodeled.
Harry COURTRIGHT and O. J. KENDALL spent Monday in Tacoma.
Henry JESSEN who has been seriously ill is much better.
Mr. and Mrs. E. C. WILKOWSKI spent Monday evening in Yelm.
Roy SUIAS and Wm. WILKOWSKI of Yelm spent Monday in Rainier.
Charles PETTIT and Mr. and Mrs. NEELEY motored to Tenino to visit
Mrs. Charles PETTIT and her infant son, who are at the home of her
sister, Mrs. FARNCOFF.
Mrs. Theo. GEHRKE and Lena GEHRKE spent Wednesday at Yelm
visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. WILKOWSKI.
After spending the past week in Rainier, Marie BOWKER returned to
her home in Lacey Saturday evening.
