Mrs. Alice WESLING of Portland was the guest of her brother and
family Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd WALL.
Guy WALL of Portland was here visiting relatives Sunday.
H. MORRIS of Tono was in town on business Saturday.
The meeting of the Rebekah Auxiliary which was to be at the home
of Mrs. Emma MILLER on January 3rd was postponed until January 10, on
account of the funeral of Mrs. Jane CALES.
Mr. and Mrs. NORWOOD of National have moved into one of the
Mutual houses in the north end of town.
E. SKINNER of Seattle was here Wednesday calling on old friends.
George GILBERT spent the first of the week in Olympia.
Mrs. K. GILBERT and Catherine GILBERT were Centralia visitors on
Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. POPE, Mr. and Mrs. I. KELSEY of Violet Prairie,
Mr. and Mrs. F. BLANKENSHIP of Centralia, and Mr. and Mrs. JEFFERS were
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. BRONZINI recently.
T. F. CALES of Seattle, Miss C. C. CALES of Everett, W. V. CALES
and daughters of Centralia were in town Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd BARNEY and children and Mrs. W. C. READ spent
Sunday in Aberdeen and the L. M. WARREN residence.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. READ were Olympia visitors Tuesday.
Otis MITCHELL was in Olympia over the week end.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. BAILEY of Mutual Heights spent Saturday
evening at the W. C. READ home.
Mr. and Mrs. James DAVIS were Centralia visitors Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred McINTOSH of Agate were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
J. W. DAVIS Sunday.
Mrs. Edw. PFIRTER has returned to her home at Agate after
spending a few days here visiting relatives.
Rudolph MORSBACH made a business trip to Olympia Monday.
A dance will be held at the I. O. O. F. Hall this Friday night.

ROCHESTER
A watch party was held at the grange hall on New Years Eve. A
number of local people attended and dancing and cards were enjoyed by
all.
School started on Wednesday after having been closed for the
holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde BIGLER are the proud parents of a son, born
January 3rd.
Those attending the Midnight Frolic on New Years Eve at Centralia
were the H. R. JAMES, TASHOS, C. BETTS, DeCRANIS, Helen SHIPLEY and
Levita DIEHMS.
Mrs. Clara WILSON and daughter Leanore returned home on
Wednesday, accompanied by Mrs. Lottie HILLES.
Guests on New Years Day of Mr. and Mrs. J. ZEBORNICK were Mr. and
Mrs. JENSEN, Mr. and Mrs. HAUGH, Mr. and Mrs. WAHL and children and Mrs.
and Mrs. TASHOS. Cards were enjoyed by all present and a delicious lunch
was served by hostess.
Thursday afternoon the Ladies Aid met in the church annex for a
regular meeting. A good crowd attended.
Wm. JOHNSON has opened another store in his warehouse and is
again doing business.

SKOOKUMCHUCK
Mrs. BARKER remained to take more treatments.
Mr. and Mrs. C. TASHOS made a business trip to Seattle on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Rey REYNOLDS were in Centralia Tuesday.
The grange will raffle a quilt on Saturday, January 19 at the
dance. The top was given by Mrs. Harold PRINCE.
Mr. and Mrs. Al BUTLER were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Leslie TYRRELL.
All officers of the Skookumchuck grange were present at the
installation held at Rochester Thursday evening. Little Rock, Rochester
and Violet Prairie officers were also in attendance.
Mrs. J. KASOLA received word of the serious illness of her
father, Charles INGALLS of Lincoln Creek on Tuesday. Mr. INGALLS is also
a brother of Mrs. Flora TURVEY.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold CARDWELL and daughter spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Ben REISBURG.
The card parties started Wednesday night and will be held every
two weeks.
The ladies of the community met at HARRIS' Wednesday to piece
quilts for Mrs. CROOKER.
Mrs. Flora TURVEY is ill and confined to her bed this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence BRADO were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Rey RICHARDSON and son.
Mr. and Mrs. Tommie DICKIESER and son spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. EMERY RICHARDSON and son.
