Oak Park

A meeting of the Philathea Club was held recently at the home of Miss Mae BAKER in Second Avenue. A social time was enjoyed after the meeting and refreshments were served.

Earl G. CASEY, connected with the medical department of the Signal Corps, 115th Field Battery, is home from Camp Kearny on a visit with his mother, Mrs. Olive CASEY, 4102 Fourth Avenue.

Washington (Yolo County)

E. CLARKE of Grass Valley was a visitor yesterday at the home of J. M. BENNETTS.

Homer TODHUNTER of Grafton is visiting friends here.

J. BRINSON, colored, aged 51 years, was found dead in his bed here. He leaves a widow and son, Floyd Brinson. The funeral will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Shiloh Baptist Church in Sacramento. Interment will be made in Odd Fellows Lawn Cemetery.

NORTH SACRAMENTO

One of the largest crowds ever assembled in this community was present last evening at the school auditorium to enjoy the New Year's Eve celebration prepared by the North Sacramento Improvement Club. Every number on the program was well received and dancing was continued until 2 a.m. The refreshments were served free to all. In advance of the program the newly elected officers of the club were installed as follows: President, C.K. HARDER, Vice President, R. W. ELSON; Secretary, Mrs. E. FISH; Treasurer, Mrs. H. P. VAN VALKENBURGH, Financial Secretary, P. BENDER.
