Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday at 10:30 am in Lewes Presbyterian church for Joseph L. Marshall, Lewes banker for 50 years and a civic leader. Mr Marshall who was 85, died Sunday in Lewes Convalescent Center after a long illness. Interment to be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Mr. Marshall was president of of the Lewes Trust Company when it merged in 1959 with the Farmers Bank. He then became vice president of Farmers. He has served on the Lewes Board of Public Works and the Lewes School Board. He was a trustee of board of directors at the University of Delaware and the Lewes Childrens Beach Home. He was an elder of the Lewes Presbyterian Church His wife, Mary McMartin Marshall died last March. Surviving are four children, The Rev. Mother Virginia Marshall, Mother Superior of All Saints Convant in Catonsville, Maryland, T. Rowland Marshall of Lewes, Mrs Sue Preston of Greenwich, Conn., and Mrs Lillian Burris of Milford. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 15 great !
grandchildren, three sister, Mrs Margaret Greenspun, Mrs Theodosia Hocker of Lewes, and Mrs Marie Riley of Easton. The family request contributions in his name to either the Beebe Hospital bulding fund or to the Lewes Presbyterna Church Memorial Fund.
