Two Rehoboth Beach sportsmen, Robert Savage, custodian of Henlopen Acres and James Price, owner of the Rehoboth Fish Market, said that they had formed a whaling party of two to catch it near the Rehoboth Yatch Basin. In a small bateau with a borrowed harpoon, they had succeded in spearing the whale back of it head. " She took a sudden dive under our boat" Price said, " and almost upset us before the harpoon came out. So we decided to let her go. The last we saw of the whale it was headed back to Lewes on a flood tide".
