Article Title: Davenport Democrat And Leader

Article Date: October 26 1930

Article Description: Business In One Location For 28 Years

Article Text:

A policy of selling nothing but quality merchandise regardless of times or business conditions is a policy that has brought enduring success to Simon and Landauer, well known Davenport clothiers, whose store at the northeast corner of Second and Harrison streets is one of the city's best known mercantile institutions.
The Simon and Landauer store was established in 1902 by L Simon and M Landauer, both of whom are still active in the business. Hugo Simon and Norman Landauer sons of the founders, have become associated with the business in the intervening years and it has been incorporated.
Under the incorporation L Simon is president, M Landauer, vice president and treasurer; Hugo Simon, secretary, and Norman Landauer, director.
It is worthy of note that the business, which is now asserted carries the largest stock of any men's clothing store in the tri cities, still occupies the location in which it was founded. The space was later added to by the absorption of a store to the east.
The Simon and Landuer store was completely remodeled and redecorated following a fire last year. It offers today one of the largest and most efficiently arranged retail store rooms in Davenport.
