Julia Downing worked in New York (city?) before moving to IA and getting
married so we are looking for any family that may have hired a young irish
woman to work in their home circa 1862---any possibility that she came
with other family members to New York and then left them to get married.
We also don't know how in the world she was connected to her husband in
IA who was French? No indication that they knew each other before the wedding.
