I am searching for any information on the WOOD family in New York about
1860. My G-G-Grandfather, WILLIAM J. WOOD b. 1840, and his older brother,
ROBERT WOOD b. 1836, arrived in New York from Cork Co.,Ireland about 1855.
WILLIAM married ELIZABETH SHERIDAN, daughter of PHILIP SHERIDAN and ELIZABETH
SHRAEDER and ROBERT married MARGARET HUGHES. Both brothers married in New
York and later (about 1862-65) relocated to Michigan (Van Buren and Kalamazoo
Counties). WILLIAM and ELIZABETH WOOD had one son in New York: ELMER WOOD
b. abt. 1863. ROBERT and MARGARET WOOD had five children in New York: LILLY
WOOD b. abt. 1857; SAMUEL WOOD b. abt. 1860; SUSAN WOOD b. abt. 1860; THOMAS
WOOD b. Mar. 1862 and ELIZA WOOD b. abt. 1864/5. I have been searching
for years without any trace of these people. Any assistance you can provide
