Am working on putting together my daughter-in-law’s ancestry and would like to learn more about the following family and their ancestors:

Edward Whalen of Grates Cove married before 1861 to a “Clementina”. Their son William Thomas Whalen was born 20 Aug 1863 and married before 1885 an “Alfreda” and they lived in Caplin Cove. Their son Ebenezer Whalen was born 19 Jun 1902 and married before 1927 to Emily Ann Vey of Long Beach.

Emily’s grandfather, James Vey (or Vyse) was born about 1814, died Feb 1867 at Long Beach, and was married in Grates Cove 8 Nov 1843 to Lavinia Stayles (or Stiles). Emily’s father, Nicholas Vey was born 17 Sep 1850 at Grates Cove and married three times (living generally at Long Beach), lastly about 1903 to Cassandra Baker (Emily’s mother).
