The earliest recorded Royal in the Anglican records of Trinity Bay has a John Royal of Corten Denham, Somerset near Sherborn, his wife Mary Ivymy married 1769 and his immediate family, 3 sons. Mary apparently married a man surnamed KINSMAN after John's death.
In the Anglican marriage records there is the above noted marriage, as well as these entries:
This is to certify that John Wiseman, Widower, of Spaniard's Bay, and Johanna Royal, Widow, of the same place, were married at St. Paul's Church, Trinity, on this twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord, one Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five by me, William G. Cormack, Curate. This marriage was solemnized between us, John (X) Wiseman and Johanna (X) Royal, (X being their marks), in the presence of us, Thomas Clarke, Joseph Wiseman, Mary Ann Collins, Elizabeth Wiseman?.
This is to certify that Aubrey Jeans of Spaniards Bay, bachelor, and DIANA Wiseman of Trinity, spinster, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity, on this fourth day of November, in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-Seven, by me, Benjamin Smith, Minister.
