>I am searching for my relatives on the Burin Peninsula. My g-grandfather
was John HANRAHAN born in Little Bay around mid-1800's. He married Mary
Jane Picco ( 1846 - 1928 ) and they lived in Little St. Joseph's which is
on the western side of Placentia Bay , on the Burin Peninsula. My
grandfather was John Hanrahan ( 1884 - 1963 ) and he married Mary Josephine
BARRON (1840's - 1930's), who was the daughter of Peter BARRON and Agnes
EMBERLEY, and they lived in Little St. Joseph's. John left there in 1937
with his 2 sons , Lou and John ( my father ) and moved to Argentia. Any
info on any of these surnames would be greatly appreciated. I do have some
info and will gladly share it with you. Any reference to these names that I
have found at the Archives so far I have written down.
>Also, does anyone know where I could find a list of the Irish that came
to NF ? Someone told me that there is a list in Ireland of same but I don't
know how or where to access it.

>And on a final note , I am looking for any old history , stories and
especialy pictures of St. Joseph's , Placentia Bay.

LITTLE ST. JOSEPH'S & GREAT ST. JOSEPH'S were known as LITTLE GAALLOW'S
HAARBOUR & GREAT GALLOWS HARBOUR when they were first settled in the early
1800's.
