Good morning!

I found a curious piece in my family notes on Adams that I would like to
be clarified, if possible. The article states:
"Capt. Adams on November 3, 1755 got orders from Winslow to take a
detachment to Annapolis, Acadia, and to take orders, once there, from
Handfield (see: "Journal of Winslow"). This concerned the great
deportation of 80% of local Acadians. Note: Handfield was the
commander of the garrison at Annapolis, Acadia."

Who was Capt. Adams? Is he from the area, or just a soldier stationed
there? Where was Winslow stationed? I am trying to discern whether or
not this Capt. Adams is a relative. The main bulk of the Adamses came
to New Hampshire from Gaspe.

Thank you for any information.
