The union Jack is the flag of Great Britian & Northern Ireland. It was
part of the Canadian Flag until the 1960s. It was the provincial flag of
Newfoundland. It makes up part of the flag of Australia, New Zealand and
Hawaii The flag itself is made up of the cross of St. George, the patron
Saint of England; the cross of St. Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland;
and St. Partick, the patron saint of Ireland.
