My Mom's family was from Holyrood and they were called "toutons" there too.
She still tells the story of when I was very small and wanted to go over to
my aunts house because of the "tootin" party!

While we're all wandering down memory lane does anyone else remember the
"garden parties"? These were another great part of the summer. I think they
were in a different parish or town almost every weekend but most of my
memories were of the food. I remember sitting on long wooden benches and
drinking tea. We have a big agricultural fair near my home each summer
which is similar but the food is not as good.
