I walked down to the East Coast Trail yesterday to see a huge iceburg that
has run aground in Bay Bulls (good time to visit, Colleen) and happened
across a tiny little Anglican graveyard that has not yet been transcribed.
Naturally, I pulled a piece of paper out of my pocket (rules of a
genealogist, ALWAYS carry pen and paper!!) and jotted down the dozen or so
headstones information. I was amazed at the quality of the headstones, many
of which I had to feel the groves to figure out the writings. All in all, a
productive weekend. So, I will type them up and send them to Bill and/or Don
and we can add another little bit to the site. I didn't get to copy out all
the little poems and sayings on the headstones (as the kids were tugging on
my coat tails) but I got all the pertinent information. I am definately
adding a pocket tape recorder to my "want/wish list". There is also another
graveyard there with many more graves that seems to still be in use. A
project for another day!
