There appears to be some confusion re the parents of Stephen, William,
Andrew & John Riggs of Bay de Verde, especially with the father's name.

A lister wrote that those four boys were the children of Johnathan &
Elizabeth Riggs of Bay de Verde. The fact is that they were the children of
JOHN & Elizabeth Riggs, NOT Johnathan. The baptism can be found on THE NFLD
GRAND BANKS site under the Bay de Verde Anglican Baptisms as
transcribed from the original records by Florence [ Blundon ] Cowan.

An attempt to clarify the situation resulted in more confusion, so to avoid
further confusion, I thought I should refer you to the Bay de Verde Anglican
Baptism Records located at the above mentioned site. It states clearly the
father's name as JOHN RIGGS.
