I have traced my family roots back to Gr-Gr Grandfather Joseph Abbott in Bonavista BB Newfoundland,who moved to and resided in Newmans Cove BB Newfoundland.
The comment is that he arrived from South-west England.DOB would be circa 1825, emmigrated to Nfld circa 1845
settled in Newmans Cove circa 1850
I recall comments about Cornwall and Plymouth when I was growing up in Bonavista.


Can anyone suggest the most likely area to research the name ABBOTT in that area.
