......D.W. Prowses book A History of Newfoundland on page 709
in the Statistics section records the following ....66 Vessels,
....Masters,.... Tons... and Men under the
heading....BRIGUS--1847......((lghr note: nothing to indicate if
the home port for these vessels was Brigus or if that is where
they unloaded their cargo that year, I have learned that the
Montezuma and Antigonish were registered to Henry (1797-1868)
and Stephen Russell of Bay Roberts also about that time the French
family of Bareneed owned a vessel named Brothers))

Suppliers. There are also surnames of masters and suppliers for
St. Johns in 1852, St. Johns in 1855, St. Johns in 1861, St.
Johns in 1881, Harbour Grace in 1881 and Brigus in 1881.
