I just wanted to share that I enjoyed the msgs sent to the list (in response
to a thread that has ceased) about where people were born and were they live
now.
Perhaps this can occur more often. I thought it was quite interesting to
see how we all connect to Newfoundland in one way or the other.
~~~~~~~
I live in Moncton, NB. I am originally from Northern New Brunswick. My
grandparents, James and Emily (Applin) Gallant were from NF. James from
Woods Island, and Emily from Current Island/Gargamelle. They were married
in Corner Brook and moved to Northern NB in the late 1920's as James took a
position at the papermill. They met at the Glenmill Inn.
Though my research I discovered I'm an English speaking Acadian Newfie !
Both the Hache Gallant's and my dad's family (Boudreau) were Acadian
settlers. I have also discovered English roots, Druggett's and Applin's (we
think). I can't count the number of new family I have discovered !
