I am writing this for the listers that are interested in everything about NL but haven't had a chance to visit ' the rock' yet. I know I was always interested in my grandparents stories and wished I could see pictures to go with them. I know the rootsweb lists aren't to be used for selling things, and I'm pretty sure this doesn't fit that as I am not getting any $ for this:-) What this ramble is about is the NL based magazine, The Downhomer. It is a great tool for history and genealogy as well as the current events pertaining to NL. One of the great things is that every issue contains a section called ' Off the Beaten Path'. Each month they highlight a 'piece' of the province. They tend to use the scenic route designations a lot, so they might pick The Cabot Trail one month for example. There are pictures and articles about the various towns and people. You can go to their website and get a free sample magazine to see if you like it. You can also order some back i!
ssues, so you might be able to find one with your 'place' highlighted that month. http://www.shopdownhomer.com/default.htmlSlainteCherylMy idea of housecleaning is to sweep the room with a glance!NFGenweb; Grand Bank District Coordinatorhttp://www.huronweb.com/genweb/nfdata/main_027_1.htm
