BYRNE, Helen (nee Power) - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, age 78 years. Left with fond and loving memories, her children: Jim, Ottawa; Rod, St. John's; Les (Charlene), Florence, NS; Sean (Anne Marie), New York; grandchildren: Kayla, Robyn, Braden, Sean Jr., Mark and Asling; brother John Power (Joan); sister Eileen Coady (Phil); as well as other relatives and friends. A very special thank-you to the nursing staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home for their compassionate care. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, August 16th, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. - 08/13/04
O'LEARY, James Peter - Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, James P. O'Leary, aged 80 years of Holyrood, formerly of Montreal. Predeceased by his eldest son James in 1997. Left with fond memories are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Cecilia (nee Healey), his two daughters: Margie (Rocco) Smeriglio, Toronto; Maureen, Holyrood; his two sons: Michael (Joanne), Germany; Patrick (Jeannie), Holyrood; his eight grandchildren: Matthew, Rocco, Tara, Caterina, Janie, Shannon, Cassie & Patrick, his many nieces, newphews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Dunphy's Funeal Home, Holyrood. Predeceased by husband Daniel, daughter Christine, four sisters and three brothers. A Veteran of WWII with the Forestry Division. Predeceased by his wife, Lily (1992), grandson, Kevin (1982) and his stepbrother, Jack Devereaux.
