CLOUSTON, Alwyn V. (Uncle Al) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on October 27, 2004, Al Clouston, age 94 years. Predeceased by his wife Ida. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Carol Ann, Egypt and son Ian; grandchildren: Douglas, John (Andrea), Elizabeth Clouston, Nancy Corcoran (Paul); great-grandchildren: Sara, Sydney, Abby, Benjamin and Kendall Corcoran; daughter-in-law Orinda McCarthy and son Paul; special friends: Dr. Gerald Benson, Rev. Sheldon MacKenzie, Ann Devine and Eva Hawkins and also many other friends and relatives. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 01, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from St. David's Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request. FITZGERALD, John M. "Jack" - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, October 28, 2004, John M. "Jack" Fitzgerald of Western Bay, age 64 years. Predeceased by wife Carol Anne; grandson Brandon; sister Mary. POWER, Maria - Passed peacefully away at the Lion's Manor Nursing Home, Placentia on October 28th, 2004, Maria (Marie) Power in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband John and her son Leo. Left with fond and loving memories are her seven children: Geraldine (Bill) Coale, West Virginia; Kit (Don) Clark, Virginia; Elisabeth (Jim) Gilmore, Pennsylvania; Fred (Marg), Jerseyside; Stan (Patsy), Jerseyside; Charlie (Evelyn) Southeast; Gerard, Jerseyside; Carol Power (Daughter-in-law), Kelligrews; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn, dear friend Bern Schabell, along with a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. STRANGE, Vera (Dallas) Rose (nee Dalton) - Passed peacefully away at Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary, AB, October 23rd, 2004. Predeceased by her husband Llewellyn (Bill). Leaving to mourn 3 daughters, Janice (Tony), Calgary, AB., Lynn, Surrey, BC, Karen (Don), New Orleans, LA and 1 son Rick, Wainwright, AB: 7 grandchildren, Lisa (Darren), Mandi, Michael, Kris, Neil, Richard and Ryan and soon to be first great-grandchild, Jayden Kielstra. Also leaving to mourn her brother, Eric (Pat), nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and the USA and a large circle of close friends in St. John's, NL and Parksville, BC. Dallas enjoyed a 25-year career as Secretary to the President of Memorial University, St. John's, NL and then retired to Parksville, BC to be close to family. A private family celebration of her life will be held at the home of her daughter in Calgary, AB followed by cremation. TOBIN, Catherine (Katie) - Passed away in the presence of her loving family at the Palliative Care Unit at the Leonard A. Miller Centre on October 27, 2004, Catherine Tobin (nee Daly), aged 79 years, formerly of Riverhead, S.M.B. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons: Don (Kelly), with whom she resided and Dennis (Nicole); daughters: Doris, Anne (Alan), Susan (Bill), Marie (Clar), Noreen (Steve), brother Pat Daly, sister Evelyn LaGarde, sister-in-law Marie Daly; special cousins Mary Daly, Kay Daly and Violet Willet, special niece Mary Daly, special nephew Michael Daly; especially dear grandchildren: Deanne Lee, Colin Dinn and Matthew Tobin, as well as twenty additional very special grandchildren and fifteen precious great-grandchildren.
