BELBIN-SLADE, Mrs. Ethel - Passed peacefully away at Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke's Beach on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, Ethel Belbin-Slade of Clarke's Beach, aged 96 years. Predeceased by her first husband Walter Belbin, 1989, second husband Elijah Donald Slade, 2001 and sisters: Elizabeth (Herbert) Mugford and Doris (Wilfred) Roberts. Leaving to mourn son Kenneth (Audrey) Belbin, Calgary, AB; daughters: Joyce Snow (John), Barrie, Ont., Dottie Brown (Robert), Cranbrook, BC; sisters: Phyllis (Hector) Belbin, Emmie Garland, Elsie Moore, Rita Morgan; brother Edward Butler; seven grandchildren: Shelley, Greg, Walter, Joy, Kevin, Scott, Kim; fourteen great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach. Visitation Thursday 7-9:30 p.m., Friday 2-4 p.m., 7-9:30 p.m., Saturday 10-12 noon. SMITH, Leonard D. - Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, Leonard Smith of St. John's, age 84 years. Leaving to mourn his beloved wife Margaret (nee Cahill), son Bill and daughter-in-law Patricia; sister Gertrude Jacobs and brother-in-law Adrian Traverse; four adored grandchildren: Brendan, Timothy, Emma and Laura; many loved nieces and nephews including Eleanor and Anita in Placentia, Gerard in Toronto and Joan and Carroll Bill of St. John's. A special thank you to the Staff of Elizabeth Towers. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. SPRACKLIN, Lewis - In loving memory of Lewis Spracklin 79 years. Today, we lost a big man with a big heart, Lew's family announce with sorrow his death, Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Center. Lew was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, he served with the American Navy during World War II and came to Sudbury in the 1950's. He was an Assistant General Manager at the Badminton and Racket Club in Toronto and served as General Manager at the Sudbury Curling Club and Idylwylde Golf and Country Club, Lew then became the General Manager of the new President Hotel where he worked for many years. He then served for nine years as a Justice of the Peace. Always active, even in retirement he continued to work for his old friend Bernie at McDowell Equipment, right up until entering the hospital with complications due to diabetes. He leaves behind a family that will never be the same without him. Survived by his wife Cora (Dionne); daughter: Eliz!
abeth-Anne (husband Paul Russel); brother-in-law: Ray "Old Buddy" Dionne (wife Marie predeceased); both parents predeceased: Ernest "Skipper" and Elizabeth; survived by brothers: Milton Sr. (wife Monnie), Ron (wife Helen predeceased), George predeceased (wife Betty); stepson: Clayton Sagadore (wife Hildi) and old loyal friends: Cummy Burton and Stan Dwyer. He was loved and will be missed by all his family, nieces, nephews and friends. Loving grandpa (of the 4 legged variety) to Remington, Rusty and "S" Kitty. Lew was a great and loving husband, amazing father, loyal friend and all around good man to know. The family will honour his request of no visitation or service. Cremation. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, Sudbury Branch, and Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated. STURGE, Audrey - Passed peacefully away on March 2, 2005 at Hoyles Escasoni Complex, age 89 years. Predeceased by her husband Stanley, sister Dorothy Goodyear and brother Frank Parsons. Leaving to mourn her sons Frank (Shirley), Cyril (Jean), and Allan (Ann Marie). Her beloved grandchildren Lloyd, Craig, Keith, Audrey Ann, Jeffery, Lesleigh, Chad and Danielle; five great-grandchildren Justin & Tiffany Sturge, Erika & Krista Hann, Brianna Sturge; also, a large number of relatives and friends especially from Brookfield and Lumsden and Toronto. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 12-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday March 5th and Sunday March 6th. Funeral services to be held 2:00 p.m. Monday March 7th, 2005 at Wesley United Church with interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. YARN, Mary - Passed peacefully away at Central Nfld. Hospital on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, Mrs. Mary Yarn (nee Boone) of Mose Ambrose, age 92 years. Leaving to mourn her loving family: Pam (Mrs. Albert Lawrence) at English Harbour West and their children Craig at Halifax and Chrissy (Mrs. Ryan Keeping) at Mose Ambrose; and Margaret (Mrs. Calvin Sheppard) at Mose Ambrose and their children James at St. John's and Megan at Mose Ambrose; also her caregiver, Mrs. Brenda Hunt at Harbour Breton, with whom she resided; two great-great-grandchildren: Aaron Power at St. John's and Blake at Mose Ambrose; a number of nieces and nephews at Bay Roberts, Port de Grave and Bareneed, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Chesley Yarn; step-son James and daughter-in-law Monica. Any donations may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church in Mose Ambrose. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church in Mose Ambrose!
