SPICER, Rebecca May
SPICER, Rebecca May - Halifax, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, April 1,
2003. Born in Little Harbour, East Fortune Bay, NL, she was a daughter of
the late Edgar and Mahalah (Scott) Grandy. She moved with her parents as a
child to Bellenam and received her education there. After leaving school,
she moved to Port aux Basques for employment and later to North Sydney, Cape
Breton, where she met and married her husband of 58 years. She moved to
Halifax, followed by her husband. In Halifax, she was employed for 10 years
with General Foods and 15 years for National Sea Products. She was a
faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Church for over 50 years. She served as
a choir member, Sunday school teacher, president of Women's Ministries,
president of senior's Christian fellowship and also an active member in
visitation and church ministries. She is survived by her youngest sister,
Violet Corkum; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband,
George; brothers, Tom, William, Harold, Wilfred, John Samuel; sisters, Lucy
and Emily. Visitation will 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in J.A. Snow Funeral Home,
2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday,
April 3, in Faith Tabernacle Church, Pastor Bob Wright officiating.
Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
