STANFORD, Rita Louise
STANFORD, Rita Louise - Passed away July 6, 2004, in South Shore Regional
Hospital, Bridgewater. She was born in Brookfield, Bonavista Bay, NL on June
9, 1920. Her parents were Aubrey and Lavine Piccott. Rita was married to
Robert Stanford on January 2, 1941. They lived in Wesleyville, Bonavista
Bay, NL until 1957. Rita moved with her husband and family to Cape Breton
and then later to Scotch Village, Hants Co. After a few years, Rita and Bob
moved to Toronto where they lived for 10 years. During that time, she worked
in a manufacturing business. Upon retirement they returned to Nova Scotia to
live in the Bridgewater area until her death. Rita was predeceased by her
parents and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Robert and
daughters, Rita, Marilyn, Carrie, Roberta, Marian, Mabel, Ethleen, Nona;
sons, Merle, Charles, Gene, Ronald and Robert. There was over 40
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone
Bay, Rev. Darel Tozer officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone
Bay. Memorial donations may be made to any charity.
