YOUNG, David John Glenburnie, Bonne Bay It is with
great sadness that the family of the late David Young announce his
passing at the Health Science Center, St. John's on Friday, July 23,
2004 at the age of 50. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories
his wife Brenda; two sons: Matthew and Adam; brother, William (Sharon);
sisters: Ann (Ron) English and Helen Young (John Harnum); father and
mother-in-law: Edgar and Joyce Upwards; brothers-in-law: Claude Butler
and Dexter (Rhonda) Upwards; sister-in-law Kim (Ernie Sawler) Upwards;
and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased
by his parents: Heber and Margaret and a sister Doreen Butler.
Visitation will take place at Church of The Resurrection, Birchy Head on
Sunday, July 25, 2004 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral
services will take place on Monday, July 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with
Father Jonathan Rowe officiating. Interment at the church Cemetery. As
expressions of sympathy flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be
made to the Church of the Resurrection or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167

COLSON, Amos St. George's It is with great sadness
that the family of the late Amos Colson announce his peaceful passing
after a long battle with cancer at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in
Stephenville on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the age of 78 years. He will
be sadly missed by his special friend, Mildred Young, his daughter,
Joanne Stevens of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, one brother, Cecil
(Irene) Colson of St. George's and two sisters: Kathleen (Gerald) Simon
of Kippens, Anne Renouf of Pickering, Ontario and two grandchildren:
Michael of Fort Nelson BC, and Sami-Jo Bailey Stevens and a large circle
of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William
and Maude Colson, brothers, Joe and Eddy, sisters, Blanche, Genevieve,
Mary and Rita. Visitation took place on Friday at St. Joseph's Parish,
St. George's. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 24th at
1:30 P.M. from St. Joseph's Parish, St. George's with Interment in the
Roman Catholic Cemetery in Shallop Cove. Funeral Arrangements are under
the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, Station Road, Stephenville
HANN Jason and Orena Hann are pleased to announce the
birth of their first child, Matthew Ryan. Matthew arrived on June 16,
2004, weighing 8 lb. 8 oz. Proud grandparents are Keith & Donna Hann of
Corner Brook and Michael and Ginger Howse of Stephenville. Proud
great-grandparents are Clarence & Clara Callahan, Joe & Elizabeth Hann
of Corner Brook and Fern Pettengill of Iowa, USA. Jason, Orena and
Matthew would like to extend a huge thank you to the Obs. staff at WMRH
for their exceptional care & support.

Judy Payne of Cox's Cove are pleased to announce the engagement of their
son Melvin to Shelley, daughter of Dean & Victoria Brake of Meadows, on
March 9th, 2004. The wedding is being planned for July 15th, 2006.
TARBETT / LO Patricia Whalen is pleased to announce the
engagement of her son Rick Tarbett, formerly of Pasadena to Stephanie
Lo, daughter of Wing and Cecilia Lo of Red Deer, AB. Wedding bells will
be ringing on October 8th, 2005 in Red Deer, AB.

are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Staci, to
Craig Brocklehourst of St. John's. Proud grandparents are Ben & Mary
Rowsell (Corner Brook) and Cecil & Millicent Park (Cox's Cove).
HIGGINS / O'NEILL Don & Joan Higgins of Corner Brook are
pleased to announce the marriage of their son Jason to Angeline,
daughter of Peter and Ditas O'Neill of Edmonton, AB. The marriage took
place May 4th, 2004 on the beautiful resort Iberostar Paraiso Beach on
the Mayan Riviera, Mexico. They were surrounded by family and friends.
Maid of honour was Natalie Letourneau. Bridesmaid was Sharon Johnston.
Bestman was Brian Higgins. Groomsman was Gary Hickey. Flower girls
were Emilie and Fiona O'Neill and Ringbearer was Ryan Hickey.
