Yes. And I was never sure whether a 19th-century mention of "Rencontre"
referred to the present-day Rencontre West or Rencontre East. Finally, I
found in McAlpine's 1898 Maritime and Newfoundland Gazetteer references to
both of them. There was "Rencontre, a fishing settlement in Fortune Bay
district; ... Belleoram, 10 miles" and "Rencontre (Hermitage Bay) ...
Pushthrough 22 miles". So it seems likely that 19th century references to
"Rencontre" in a Hermitage context would have meant what is now Rencontre
West.
I know there have been (still are?) multiple Broad Coves in Newfoundland.
But it's not just Newfoundland! I live in a town that has a Mountain View
Avenue, a Mountain View Terrace, and a Mountain View Drive. Sure makes
things difficult for people responding to emergency calls...

To clarify the Rencontre issue. There are two on the south coast.
Rencontre West is situated between Francois and Hare Bay. Rencontre East
is half way in Fortune Bay between Doctors Harbour and Andersons Cove.
