Here is what it says on Peters - it is quite long.
Peter, a surname of Englan, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, Peter of England
and Scotland, from the baptismal name Pete, Latin Petrus, from the Greek -
rock, a translation of the Aramai Cephas, the name given by Jesus to Simon,
son of Jonas. "St. Peter appealed to the imagination of the medieval
Church more than any other of the apostles...and his name was one of the
commonest christian names in every country. It was introduced into England
by the Normans and soon became a favourite The usual from was the F
rench Piers, which gave rise to numerous surnames." They include PARKINS
(ON), PARRELL, PARROTT, PARRY, PEARCE, PIERCE, PEARSON, PIERSON, PEET, PELL

In Ireland, Mac Feeters, Mac Pheadair - son of Peter, is often
translated PETERS (ON). (Whithycombe, Reaney, Cottle, Black, MacLysaght).
Traced by Guppy in Cornwall, Somerset and North Wales with Peter also in
Cornwall, and by MacLysaght in Cos. Tyrone and Derry. Black traced Peter
in Angus, Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire.

about 1812; Mary, from Tepperary Parish, married at St. John's 1808 (Nfld.
